The North Bay Forest Improvement Program is a regional partnership helping North Bay landowners create healthier, more resilient forests.
About Us
Our Mission
The North Bay Forest Improvement Program (NBFIP) connects landowners with the tools, expertise, and funding needed to restore forest health, reduce wildfire risk, and strengthen community resilience.
NBFIP is administered by Conservation Works, in partnership with local Resource Conservation Districts (RCDs) and the Clear Lake Environmental Research Center (CLERC).
Through cost-share assistance and technical support, we help private landowners plan and complete fuels-reduction, reforestation, and forest improvement projects that protect both people and the landscape.
Why It Matters
Wildfire, drought, and disease threaten the long-term health of North Bay forests. NBFIP brings together local Resource Conservation Districts, nonprofits, and state and federal partners to deliver practical, science-based solutions that work at the local scale.
By investing in proactive forest management, we’re building a safer, more resilient future for the North Bay.
