Apply for NBFIP Funding

Recommendation

Having an approved Forest Management Plan (FMP) or mini-plan before you apply for implementation funding is not required, but it can improve your application score.

Implementation Project Applications:
Next open window to be announced soon.

FMP Applications

Forest Management Plan applications must be submitted by a Registered Professional Forester (RPF). Landowners cannot submit the FMP application themselves.

Important Before Applying

Implementation Project incentive funding through NBFIP is competitive and limited. Applications are scored and ranked after each funding window closes. Meeting eligibility requirements does not guarantee funding.

For the upcoming funding cycle, approximately $200,000 in funding is available per county, and demand is expected to exceed available funds.

Projects with stronger planning, readiness, larger treatment impact, and alignment with program priorities may score more competitively.

Work with your local RCD or CLERC if you are in Lake County to ensure your application is as strong as possible.
